Choosing a right weapon can upgrade your DPS greatly as high as 10K. But the high-end D3 items are too high to afford for us normal players. But this time, I would recommend one useful but cheap Weapon for you. It is Echoing Fury. Life Steal has been the necessary stat of weapon search, but if your another weapon has life steal around 2.6%, it is enough. It would make your Echoing Fury choices much easier.

Search in the Auction House with stats like Attack Speed, Critical Hit Damage, Chance to Fear on Hit and Has a socket without the stat of Life steal, and you will find the price is much lower than with the stat of Life steal. This weapon below I got it at only 10 million Diablo 3 Gold recently. This is great on my Monk. And my DPS increased as high as 5k DPS. The chance to fear on hit make you have more time to tackle a crowd of monsters in higher Monster Power.

With a Critical Hit Damage 100% gem, I guess your DPS would increase enormous. If you would find the weapon is with Dexterity, then it would be perfect for Monk. The chance to fear on hit would make monsters run away, even Barbarian can benefit a lot in this stat. If you have any doubts in mind about your items choices, you should search the top players. You would learn a lot in their choices. Their skill build should be in combination with the items choices as well. As some builds rely high on the life regeneration one second, and some on the life steal stat. If you are a Monk player, I would not recommend the poison resistance for all the items. It seems that poison resistance items are rare and more expensive. But it would be hard to change all the items now. This tip only applies for the new monk player.
